Policy and Issues

ClubsNSW's Policy and Government team is responsible for ensuring the interests of clubs are represented in dealings with parliamentarians, government officials, the bureaucracy and the media. We ensure that members are kept informed of key policy developments.

We deal with a host of issues including:

  • Responsible gaming and compliance;
  • Gaming tax;
  • Gaming machine technical standards;
  • The Central Monitoring System;
  • Gaming Machines Act and Gaming Machine Tax Act;
  • GST;
  • Club mutuality and income tax;
  • Insurance;
  • Privacy;
  • Food safety;
  • Community Development & Support Expenditure;
  • Club security;
  • Smoking;
  • Community and courtesy transport;
  • Liquor regulations;
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA);
  • Drink-driving;
  • Club governance;
  • Place of Public Entertainment Licenses (POPEs);
  • The Registered Clubs Act; and
  • Issues relating to the Club Movement's national body, ClubsAustralia.

The Policy and Government team is made up of:
