Employees need to know their legal responsibilities if they are going to work in the sale or supply of alcohol. Through a partnership between ClubsNSW and Clubs Australia, we can now offer Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training online via Workbehindabar.com.au, to those looking to get accredited or reaccredited, with the changes to liquor legislation in NSW.
The course, consisting of four topics, is interactive and utilises industry experts who’ll provide first-hand experience on how they implement and follow RSA laws.
Topics covered include:
- Sell or Serve Alcohol Responsibly
- Assist Customers to Drink Within Appropriate Limits
- Assess Alcohol Affected Customers and Identify Customers to Whom Sale or Service Must Be Refused
- Refuse to Provide Alcohol
Immediate notification will be given to the student upon successful completion and their interim RSA Certificate will follow shortly after. The interim certificate expires within 90 days of issue. The student can then use the Interim Certificate to apply for the Competency Card at a participating Australia Post outlet. No further payment is required. However they will need to ensure they have their correct sources of Primary and Secondary ID with them.
With reaccreditation now mandatory in NSW, club employees can use this online portal to get reaccredited easily. Dates for the expiry of RSA paper certificates over the next five years are listed in the table below:
