Keep Australia Beautiful 2011 Sustainable Cities

ClubsNSW was proud to be a sponsor of the Keep Australia Beautiful Sustainable Cities “Sustainable Clubs Award.”  Clubs which have incorporated sustainable environmental practices into their club operations should seriously consider entering this Award.

What is the Sustainable Cities Program?

The Sustainable Cities Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding environmental initiatives implemented by local government authorities, schools, businesses and clubs whilst raising public awareness of a range of environmental issues affecting metropolitan NSW..

Sustainable Clubs Award

A category of the Sustainable Cities Awards, the ‘Sustainable Clubs Award’ recognises the role of metropolitan registered clubs in contributing to and supporting voluntary community groups and incorporating sustainable practices into their club operations.  This includes recycling and energy/water conservation.

What geographical area does the program cover?
The boundaries of the program stretch from Newcastle to Wollongong and include Sydney and the Central Coast.  From the coast, the boundary stretches west to include the Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and the Illawarra escarpment. The program spans a total of 43 local government areas.
