ClubsNSW has been and continues to be a generous partner of the Keep Australia Beautiful NSW Sustainable Cities Program.

Keep Australia Beautiful NSW is a not-for-profit organisation, which has been recognising and encouraging excellence in environmental management and beautification for over 30 years.

Their Award Programs acknowledge the outstanding achievements of clubs, councils, community groups, schools, businesses and dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to protect and enhance the areas in which we all live, work and play.

What is the Sustainable Cities Program?
The Sustainable Cities program is the leading community and environmental awards program for metropolitan communities in NSW.

The aim of the projects that form the basis of the Sustainable Cities Program is not only to enhance the environment, but also improve the standard of living and quality of life for urban communities. More than any other metropolitan based environmental program, the Sustainable Cities Awards can inspire the community to make a genuine and lasting contribution to their area, working in partnership with local government and local businesses.

Sustainable Clubs Award
A category of the Sustainable Cities Awards, this award recognises the role of metropolitan registered clubs in contributing to and supporting voluntary community groups and incorporating sustainable practices into their club management.  This includes recycling and energy/water conservation.

What geographical area does the program cover?
The boundaries of the program stretch from Newcastle to Wollongong and include Sydney and the Central Coast.  From the coast, the boundary stretches west to include the Hawkesbury, Blue Mountains and the Illawarra escarpment. The program spans a total of 43 local government areas.
