Talent Development Project (TDP)
The TDP is Australia's most successful entertainment industry program that prepares young performers from NSW public schools for a career in the music industry.
TDP provides talented young performers with unique entertainment industry training and experience. Up to 30 performers are selected through an intensive audition process. Less than half that number will make it through the year-long program of monthly master class workshops at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
Leading names from the Australian music industry, together with TDP artistic and curriculum director Mary Lopez AM, use their experience to help young performers develop the skills they need to break into show business. The TDP facilitates student performances at significant public and corporate events throughout the year.
Further, the TDP provides and prepares the principal soloists for that renowned showcase of NSW public education, the Schools Spectacular.
Past TDP graduates include:
- Angus and Julia Stone
- Felicity Urquart
- Human Nature
- Morgan Evans
- Nathan Foley
- John Foreman
- Paulini Cuuenavuli
- The McClymont Sisters
In 2008, ClubsNSW and Keno proudly sponsored a TDP graduates touring show during April 6-13. These concerts gave six TDP graduates valuable exposure and experience to a live audience in a professionally-run venue, but also provided a fantastic 90 minute concert for seniors.
The following clubs generously agreed to provide a performance space for the TDP concerts including St Marys Rugby League Club, Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL, Dee Why RSL Club and Blacktown RSL Club. The concerts included varying styles of music consisting of theatrical numbers, jazz, ballads, country and contemporary singers.
If your club is interested in hosting a future TDP concert, please contact ClubsNSW Sponsorship and Events Coordinator Maria Peña on mpena@clubsnsw.com.au.
