ClubsNSW is raising money for the victims of the devastating bushfires that have raged across Victoria during the past few days, and which have claimed the lives of 173 people and destroyed more than 1000 homes.

All monies raised will be forwarded to the Red Cross, who are co-ordinating the Victorian Government’s 2009 Victorian Bushfire Fund.

Clubs should notify ClubsNSW of their donation via email at bushfireappeal@clubsnsw.com.au or by contacting the Member Enquires Centre on 1300 730 001. Receipts will be issued directly via the Red Cross.

Clubs have previously displayed their incredible generosity during times of natural disaster, raising $3.4 million for the victims of the South East Asia Tsunami in late 2004 and then again in 2006, donating $760,000 to the victims of Cyclone Larry in Far North Queensland.

ClubsNSW has pledged $50,000 towards the appeal. A list of clubs and businesses donating to the appeal will be posted below and updated daily.
