Objectives of the Club Code

The objectives of the Club Code are:

  • To promote consistently high standards of professionalism across the Club industry;
  • To bolster pride and self-esteem amongst Club directors, managers, employees, members, suppliers and volunteers;
  • To increase community trust and confidence in the accountability and transparency of Club administration; and
  • To support Clubs in fulfilling their mission and their obligations to stakeholders.

Club Code Commitments

Part B of the Club Code of Practice contains a list of Code commitments which Clubs must abide by. 

The commitments include:

  • Legal obligations;
  • Club Constitutions;
  • Conduct of directors, management and staff;
  • Commitment to the communities in which Clubs are located;
  • Disciplinary proceedings;
  • Responsibilities and remuneration of executives;
  • Human resource management and industrial relations;
  • Procurement of goods and services;
  • Major capital works;
  • Responsible provision of gaming;
  • Responsible service of alcohol;
  • Conduct of elections;
  • Financial management and reporting;
  • Complaints handling; and
  • Privacy and confidentiality.
