Your Local Club Campaign

Clubs are born to give

A new advertising campaign using real members, staff, volunteers, sporting teams and coaches gets to the emotional heart of what all clubs are about – giving their best.

ClubsNSW has launched a new advertising campaign across TV, radio and digital to help promote the essence of local clubs and the role they play within their communities. The new campaign follows on from the successful Your Local Club campaign launched in 2012, which focused on the way clubs contribute to the communities in which they are located.

While the 2012 ads showcased clubs’ love of community, local sporting teams and bringing people together, the television commercials that lead the new campaign aim to showcase the core value that sits at the heart of local clubs and makes us unique – the act of giving.

Working in the Club Industry

Employment within the club industry can provide amazing opportunities to forge a respectable career – even if you’re just starting out or making the transition into a new vocation.

ClubsNSW has recently completed the production of two exciting new promotional messages about working in the Club Industry to highlight that no matter where you want to create a career in this day and age, you can create that career in a club.

Every club has been sent a copy of videos and both videos continue to be promoted via the yourlocalclub.com.au and ClubsNSW websites, social media, radio, career websites, TAFE, the school system and other vocational training channels.

Nathan Hindmarsh Responsible Gambling

Former Parramatta Eels captain Nathan Hindmarsh joined forces with ClubsNSW in May 2013 to launch this Responsible Gambling awareness campaign, in a bid to further assist problem gamblers.

After going public with the fact that he had suffered from a gambling problem in his recent autobiography, Nathan decided he wanted to encourage others to put their hand up and ask for help if gambling was no longer fun.

As part of the campaign Nathan has visited clubs across NSW to talk about his experiences and help people, particularly young men, recognise the signs of unhealthy gambling.

The campaign is ongoing and is being promoted on radio and within clubs all across NSW.

Part of the Solution

Part of the Solution is a nation-wide campaign, which was launched in June 2012 communicating, the active role that clubs play in reducing problem gambling in the community.

The campaign focuses on the important role that clubs play to help reduce problem gambling and how clubs will continue to be ‘part of the solution’, offering access to 24/7 counselling, banning betting with credit cards, trained staff in responsible gambling, and the development of an unrivalled self exclusion program. More than 1000 clubs across NSW now have access to the system and can use it to assist people when they approach their club wishing to self-exclude.

The Club Industry will continue working hard to find ways to help, because clubs are part of the solution. For further information about the campaign visit the campaign website, www.partofthesolution.com.au

The campaign continues to be promoted on national television, radio, print and in clubs Australia-wide.
