ClubsNSW delivers a range of core services encompassing workplace relations, political advocacy, education and training, communications and events.

Advocacy

The Public Affairs Team provide members with expert advice, and act on behalf of the industry by developing and addressing key political issues which affect the entire industry on a wide range of issues including:

  • Responsible gaming and compliance;
  • Interpretation of and response to Government on proposed legislation;
  • Gaming tax and the Gaming Machine Tax Act;
  • Gaming machine technical standards;
  • GST, club mutuality and income tax.

Events

Events organised by ClubsNSW, provide every employee in the club industry with the opportunity to share ideas, celebrate achievements, raise and talk about topical industry issues, as well as network with the thousands of individuals that form this diverse industry.

Club Directors Institute (CDI)

The Club Directors Institute (CDI) is a professional association for directors and managers working in clubs.

It has been providing director training workshops and seminars for over 10 years, focusing on key governance skills, such as strategic planning, club leadership, financial oversight, diversity, innovation and change, risk management and networking. 

Membership provides  full access to all training, development, tools and templates to ensure each director and club meets its compliance and governance obligations.

Club Employers Mutual

Club Employers Mutual (CEM) is a joint initiative between ClubsNSW and Employers Mutual that was established in 2012 to provide member clubs with access to club industry-specific solutions for workers compensation insurance. .

The major benefits for clubs to sign with CEM, include WHS incentive payments for all eligible clubs, industry specific claims management services, and a proven record of reduced return-to-work rates.

ClubPATHWAYS

ClubPATHWAYS encompasses all of ClubsNSW Learning and Development programs.

The Association offers a suite of training courses for boards, managers and staff, which have been written specifically for the club industry.

ClubsNSW delivers all of the training courses face to face, and handfuls are available to be completed online.

ClubSAFE

In operation for over 13 years, ClubSAFE is the club industry's Responsible Conduct of Gambling Program. Used in over 950 clubs statewide, it is NSW’s preferred responsible gambling program.

The program has been designed to help registered clubs actively manage their responsible gambling operations, to meet and surpass legislative requirements and community expectations.

Workplace Relations

Member clubs have access to comprehensive industrial management support through a range of professional services offered by ClubsNSW, including the Member Enquiries Centre (MEC), available from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, on 1300 730 001 to assist with any issues that arise surrounding club operations, or:

  • Strategic advice in best practice HR management and industrial relations;
  • Assistance with employment contracts and documentation;
  • Legal representation in employment related matters;
  • Alternative dispute resolution;
  • Drafting, negotiating and strategic advice in implementing Enterprise Agreements;
  • Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation;
  • Advice and interpretation of the Fair Work Act 2009 (the National Employment Standard) and other workplace relations legislation;
  • Industry customised training on topical workplace relations issues.
