COVID-19 Updates 18th November, 2020

4:45pm, 18th November, 2020

Member clubs are advised that the NSW Government has delivered the 2020-2021 Budget. A number of measures in the Budget may benefit clubs, and these are summarised below:

Out & About Voucher Scheme

NSW residents aged 18 and above will each be given $100 worth of digital vouchers that can be used at hospitality venues such as clubs, restaurants and hotels, and on entertainment activities such as performing arts, cinemas and tourism attractions across the state. The vouchers will be offered as four $25 vouchers, with two vouchers ($50 worth) to be used for dining at venues, and the other two vouchers ($50 worth) to be used for entertainment activities.

The vouchers cannot be combined with one another, which means a patron cannot use two vouchers ($50) to purchase a meal. Additionally, each voucher can only be used once, which means that if a patron uses a voucher to purchase food valued at less than $25, the voucher expires and the patron cannot use the remaining amount in the future.

The vouchers cannot be used for gambling or to purchase tobacco or alcohol.

Clubs interested in participating in the Out & About scheme must register as a COVID Safe business and create a business profile on MyServiceNSW.

Funding For Community Sports Infrastructure

Clubs that maintain community sporting infrastructure may be eligible to apply for grants up to $1 million as part of the $100 million offer through the NSW Government’s Greater Cities and Regional Sports Facility Fund. This fund aims to create spaces that enable communities to participate in sport at all levels by investing in new and existing facilities.
