Member clubs are advised that NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced a one-week extension of the lockdown of ‘Greater Sydney’ and COVID restrictions across the rest of NSW.
The lockdown and restrictions will now expire at 11.59pm on Friday, 16 July 2021. The media release accompanying today’s announcement can be found here.
The restrictions in ‘Greater Sydney’ and the rest of NSW will remain unchanged during the one-week extension period. A summary of the restrictions can be found in Circular 21-111.
In making the announcement, the Premier said that the decision to extend the restrictions is based on the highly transmissible nature of the Delta variant of the virus as well as the Government’s priority of ensuring the current lockdown is the last.
The Premier also said that the Government is working on a roadmap for NSW to exit from restrictions.
Member clubs are reminded of the following measures to support clubs and their employees who are impacted by the lockdown and other restrictions:
- Hospitality and tourism COVID-19 support grant
- COVID-19 Disaster Payment.
