1:00pm, 9th May, 2021

The NSW Government has announced a one-week extension to the temporary restrictions in ‘Greater Sydney’.

This means that the restrictions on clubs in ‘Greater Sydney’ will remain in place until 12.01am on Monday, 17 May 2021.

The temporary restrictions include no standing while drinking in indoor areas, mandatory masks for customer-facing staff, and limitations on singing and dancing. Further information on the temporary restrictions can be found in Circular 21-071.

The temporary restrictions apply to ‘Greater Sydney’ which includes the Blue Mountains as well as the Central Coast and Wollongong LGAs.

The decision to extend the restrictions comes as NSW Health continues its attempts to identify the source of two positive COVID-19 cases in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
