The ClubGrants Guidelines states, “eligible Category 1 expenditure is for projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people.”

Applications that aim to reduce social disadvantage and have an early intervention focus will be ranked highly by the assessment panel, as well as programs and projects that address the following needs or service gaps:

Reducing social isolation and increasing community connectedness
Supporting and promoting mental health, healthy lifestyles and wellbeing
    - Enhancing employment outcomes, particularly for those that experience barriers to participation in the workforce
    - Affordable housing initiatives and supporting tenants
    - Increase the liveability of neighbourhoods and place-based connectedness eg neighbourhood and youth drop-in centres or creative arts/cultural initiatives.
