ClubSAFE Staff-Customer Relations Training

The ClubSAFE Staff-Customer Relations (S-CR) Training program is a proactive approach to staff training in responsible gambling and customer care developed by the University of Sydney Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic.  

The program teaches staff members to actively build rapport with customers, identify those at risk of gambling-related or other mental health issues and provide support for these issues in an empathetic and destigmatised manner. The in-person training has two levels Advanced and Ambassador. ClubSAFE - Training & Support

ClubSAFE is Australia’s leading gambling harm minimisation program designed to provide guidance and support for clubs to manage their responsible gambling operations and obligations and achieve excellence in responsible gambling best practice.  

More than 950 clubs and their patrons across NSW choose ClubSAFE to assist them with Multi-Venue Self-Exclusion (MVSE), 24/7 phone support and counselling, face-to-face training, and compliance support.  

ClubSAFE - Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Training

ClubSAFE AML/CTF training has been designed to provide you with an understanding of how to identify, assess, treat and report money laundering and terrorism financing risk in your club. A risk awareness training program is central to a reporting entity's effort to protect its business from being used to facilitate money laundering or terrorism financing.

Armed Robbery Prevention

Training in armed robbery prevention is an essential to ensure you implement best practice procedures to minimise your club’s chance of becoming a target. ClubsNSW works with Barringtons in the area of Armed Robbery Prevention training.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

In order to work in the club industry, or hospitality at large, workers involved in the sale and supply of alcoholic beverages must hold an RSA competency card. ClubsNSW offers RSA training through Barringtons. RSA training is also offered through various accredited providers including the Club Managers’ Association of Australia (CMAA).

Job Ready - Skill Set and Certificate II Courses

The Job Ready course has been designed to address the current needs and dynamics of Australia’s exciting club industry. This course is designed to educate school leavers and others seeking employment in the club industry. 

Students of the Job Ready course walk away with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, having completed units from either our Certificate II in Hospitality or Certificate II in Business. Job Ready graduates also have access to Barringtons’ Jobs in Clubs website - a network for clubs recruiting future employees.  

Job Ready - Certificate III Level

This course provides access to the next level of training and qualification in your club journey. The focus is on key Certificate III level skill sets required to ensure you understand how best to deliver outstanding customer service. The skill sets build towards a full qualification in the discipline of your choice — hospitality or business administration.

Working Smart - Certificate III Level

Delivered via five one-day sessions over a year, the Working Smart program is aimed at industry employees looking to formalise their knowledge at the Certificate III Level in hospitality and business administration. Workplace assessment ensures that trainees are getting on-the-job experience and are assessed by their managers, who are seasoned industry professionals.
