What we advocate on
Policy and regulation affect how clubs operate, invest and support their communities. ClubsNSW advocates on the key issues affecting registered clubs, including gambling reform and harm minimisation, taxation and financial sustainability, liquor and hospitality regulation, planning and infrastructure, workplace relations, governance and other regulatory obligations.
Our focus is on practical policy outcomes that support responsible club operations, reduce unnecessary red tape and recognise the contribution clubs make to local economies, employment, sport, volunteering and community life.
This includes preparing submissions, briefing government and regulators, developing policy positions, contributing to consultation processes and engaging directly with decision-makers at both state and federal levels.
Informed by clubs
Effective advocacy starts with understanding how policy affects clubs in practice. ClubsNSW draws on feedback from regional meetings, industry forums, member enquiries, regulatory engagement, ClubAssist and direct conversations with clubs.
This practical insight helps us identify emerging issues, respond to proposed reforms and put forward solutions that reflect the real-world experience of clubs.
Keeping clubs informed
ClubsNSW helps member clubs stay informed and prepared as laws, government priorities and regulatory expectations change. Through member updates, ClubLIFE content, briefings, guidance notes and direct responses to policy-related enquiries, ClubsNSW provides timely information and practical support.
This helps clubs understand the implications of policy change, plan ahead and continue delivering for their members and local communities.
A national voice
Through Clubs Australia, ClubsNSW also contributes to national advocacy on federal policy issues affecting more than 5,000 licensed and registered clubs across Australia.
By working with industry partners and governments across jurisdictions, ClubsNSW helps promote a united industry voice and policy settings that recognise the contribution clubs make every day.
