All going to plan, the Riverina-based Club intends to welcome its first guests to the new site in 2028. Interior design planning is underway with Verity Rhodes Interiors; once finalised, the building tender process will begin.
Club Corowa President Chris Thomas said the approval represents years of planning and a community focus, with the new accommodation representing far more than simply additional rooms.
“This project has always been about much more than building accommodation,” Mr Thomas said.
“It is about investing in Corowa’s future by creating opportunities for local businesses, increasing tourism, supporting employment and ensuring Club Corowa continues to grow and diversify for generations to come.”
With increased accommodation, Corowa will be well placed to host larger conferences, meetings, sporting events and functions — bringing valuable economic benefits to local businesses and the wider community.
As with previous projects, including Mini Golf on the Murray, Club Corowa has stated its intent to engage local trades and businesses wherever possible during construction “to support the regional economy from the ground up”.
