The new Club is set to launch in November, delivering a premium dining and hospitality experience overlooking Ocean Protect Stadium.

The new Sharks Leagues Club at Woolooware Bay will officially open its doors on Saturday, 7 November, with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks also announcing today a partnership with renowned Sydney hospitality group, Dedes Waterfront Group.

The Club, set beside Ocean Protect Stadium, will offer panoramic views across the stadium, Botany Bay and the Sydney city skyline, plus one of Sydney’s largest elevated hospitality decks.

Embedding hospitality at the heart of the new Club, the family-run Dedes Waterfront Group will operate two food outlets — Flying Fish Bistro Cronulla and Amici Pizza Pasta, with acclaimed Italian-Australian Culinary Director Danny Russo bringing his expertise to the Amici kitchen.

With more than 40 years in hospitality, Dedes Waterfront Group is behind some of Sydney’s best-known hospitality venues, and already operates in a number of registered clubs including Watergrill at the Sydney Rowing Club and Alpha at the Hellenic Club.

Flying Fish Bistro Cronulla will bring premium Australian and New Zealand seafood and sustainably sourced produce to the Shire, building on Flying Fish’s long-standing reputation as one of Sydney’s signature dining experiences.

At Amici Pizza Pasta, they’ll serve up wood-fired pizzas and classic pasta in a relaxed, social and family-friendly club setting, true to its name with “Amici” meaning friends in Italian. It will be led by Culinary Director Danny Russo, who has worked across leading restaurants in Europe, Asia and Australia.

“On behalf of the entire team at Dedes Waterfront Group, we cannot wait to partner with the Sharks and bring Flying Fish Bistro and Amici to this wonderful hospitality venue,” said Dedes Waterfront Group Director Con Dedes.

“The scale and views from the new Club are breathtaking, totally highlighted by one of the best outdoor multi-venue decks that we have ever seen. We cannot wait to watch the Shire boom.”

Amici Pizza Pasta Culinary Director Danny Russo said: “Being a chef is in my blood, and I just love it. Everyone on my mum’s side are restaurateurs, and my passion comes from the Italian culture of enjoying a pizza with friends and having a laugh. There’ll be nothing better than a hand-stretched wood-fired pizza from Amici while watching the Sharks win with a cold beverage in hand.”

Cronulla Sharks Group CEO Dino Mezzatesta says Saturday, 7 November is a date the Club’s members, fans and the Shire community can now look forward to.

“This is special because it’s been a long time coming. The Board, management and all associated with getting this Club to an opening date are very proud of what will be delivered,” he said.

“Partnering with Dedes Waterfront Group means we’re opening with food and hospitality of the very highest standard. This is the new home of the Sharks, built for everyone to enjoy, and we can’t wait to welcome you in.”

Open seven days a week, the Sharks Leagues Club is designed as a destination for every occasion — morning coffee and gelato, light-filled bistro dining, cocktails at the Summertime Bar and shared plates on the deck, special celebrations and electric game day hospitality.

Excitement is already building among the playing group, with Sharks NRL star Nicho Hynes dropping in for a site tour with staff on Monday.

With less than four weeks to opening, today the Club also launched the new SharksLeagues.com.au website showcasing the extensive experiences on offer.
