Overview
The Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) course is a mandatory one-day training program for staff to act in the role of the Responsible Gambling Officer (RGO).
The course builds on Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) knowledge and provides participants with advanced skills in identifying gambling-related harm, implementing harm minimisation strategies, conducting effective patron interventions, and meeting legislative and compliance obligations.
It also focuses on the leadership role RGOs play in promoting responsible gambling practices and supporting staff and patrons within their venue.
This course is for
- Staff from clubs with more than 20 gaming machines must have RGOs on duty trained in the ARCG.
- Staff wishing to act in the role of RGO.
- Licensees, managers, duty managers, and other senior venue staff responsible for gaming operations, responsible gambling compliance, and overseeing RGOs.
- Individuals seeking a greater understanding of gambling harm minimisation and patron support practices.
Requirement
Participants must hold a current NSW Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) competency card or have completed the NSW RCG course.
Attendance for the full day is required.
Participants must actively participate in discussions, activities and roleplays, as well as complete the participants workbook
If completing the course virtually, have access to a working microphone and a webcam which remains on for the duration of the course.
