Topics Round 2
Topic 1: Board Minutes & Resolutions: How Detailed Is “Enough”?
This practical CEI session is designed specifically to support directors, CEOs and senior managers with a clear, regulator-focused approach to board minutes. With a strong “court ready” lens, the session aligns with the expectations of Liquor & Gaming NSW, Fair Trading NSW and ASIC.
Participants will:
- Gain practical guidance on what regulators and courts actually look for in board minutes.
- Discover how to avoid common governance risks.
- Learn how to strike the right balance between too little and too much detail.
- Ideal for mixed director and executive audiences, this session provides clear, actionable insights that strengthen governance and protect the board and the club.
Topic 2: Balancing Compliance and Strategy: Strengthening Both, Not Choosing Between Them
In our environment of increasing regulation and cost pressure, many NSW club boards are asking a critical question — are we investing in compliance at the expense of performance or using it to strengthen the core business?
This practical, strategic presentation supports directors, CEOs and senior leaders to rethink the relationship between compliance and commercial outcomes.
Rather than treating them as competing priorities, it explores how clubs can become future‑ready by aligning regulation, capital investment and strategy.
Designed for those responsible for long‑term sustainability, risk and growth, this session provides clear, practical insights for leaders making decisions that will shape the future of their club.
