Member clubs are reminded that reports relating to Category 1 funding allocations under Clause 2.1.6 of the ClubGrants Guidelines must be submitted to Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) by 15 October 2026. The requirement applies where clubs have not allocated at least 75 per cent of their Category 1 funding in accordance with local committee recommendations.

Reporting requirement

Clause 2.1.6 of the ClubGrants Guidelines requires clubs to allocate no less than 75 per cent of Category 1 funding in accordance with recommendations made by a compliant local committee.

Where this requirement has not been met, a report outlining the reasons for non-compliance must be submitted to L&GNSW by 15 October 2026.

Which clubs must submit a report?

A report is required where:

  • Less than 75 per cent of the club’s Category 1 funding was allocated in accordance with local committee recommendations;
  • a local committee was required within the relevant local government area (LGA) but was not established;
  • the local committee does not comply with the ClubGrants Guidelines; or
  • the local committee has not been registered on the public register maintained by the Office of Responsible Gambling (ORG).

Clubs should also refer to the relevant advice from L&GNSW, here, regarding local committee compliance requirements.

Clubs seeking social priorities from ORG

Clubs should note that obtaining social priorities from ORG does not remove the requirement to submit a report where there is no compliant local committee operating within the relevant LGA.

How to submit a report

Reports must be submitted directly to L&GNSW by email no later than 15 October 2026 at this address:

gamingaudit.revenue@liquorandgaming.nsw.gov.au

A Category 1 funding report template is available from the ClubGrants online portal here.

Failure to Submit a Report

Failure to submit a report where required may result in L&GNSW determining that a club is not eligible to receive a gaming machine tax rebate and may lead to additional compliance action.

Registering a local committee

The ORG is responsible for maintaining and publishing the register of local committees and committee membership on the L&GNSW website.

Where a local committee has not yet been registered, clubs or committee convenors should contact ORG via:

info@responsiblegambling.nsw.gov.au.

The following information should be provided:

  • The LGA in which the local committee has been established
  • The committee convenor
  • All committee members, including liquor licence numbers for participating clubs
  • Local committee contact details, including a contact name, phone number and email address
  • Contact details for the person submitting the registration (this information will not be published).
