At ClubSafe we believe self-exclusion in combination with counselling is the most effective way for patrons to change their relationship with gambling.  This is why we use leading systems, supply counselling services and support our member clubs in their engagements with patrons who may be showing at-risk gambling behaviours.

MVSE System

ClubsNSW owns and operates the industry’s leading Multi-Venue Self-Exclusion (MVSE) System.

The system provides patrons with the ability to exclude themselves from multiple venues (clubs and hotels) simultaneously to minimise their gambling harm.

MVSE also provides the functionality for patrons, in the privacy of their own home, the ability to self-exclude without the assistance of venue staff.

Counselling

ClubSafe provides a counselling service to any patrons experiencing gambling-related distress.  This counselling also provides support, advice and referral to family members who may be experiencing harm from their loved one’s gambling.

Call the ClubSafe Counselling Line on 1800 99 77 66.

ClubSafe Counsellors can refer patrons preferring face-to-face counselling to a local counselling service funded by the Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF). Once in touch with a local service, a patron can receive ongoing support free of charge.

For complex and distressing engagements, ClubSafe can assist with guidance and advice about how best to support patrons.

Responsible Gambling Compliance Checks

Available to ClubSafe+ and Premium members.

ClubSafe’s team of Responsible Gambling Compliance experts will attend your site to examine each requirement for the successful delivery of a safe gambling venue.

Following the compliance check, a report is provided highlighting areas of non-compliance or where improvements can be made with steps to rectify, as well as best practice recommendations to improve club compliance and operations.

Revocation of a Self-Exclusion

If a self-excluded person wishes to terminate their exclusion before the expiry date, ClubSafe counsellors will conduct a professional assessment of the request.  Unless the patron’s circumstances are extenuating, ClubSafe counsellors are unlikely to support an early exit from the self-exclusion.  The decision to revoke a self-exclusion deed remains at the discretion of ClubSafe counsellors.

Third Party Self-Exclusion

When club staff are approached by a family member or identify a patron who may benefit from a break from gambling, ClubSafe can assist by guiding clubs and family members to the evidence of harm they need to collect.

ClubSafe will then review the evidence from the involved parties and provide a recommendation to members as to the appropriate next steps to support the patron.
