Sound NSW is currently offering a range of grant programs for venues, artists and music organisations. Several of these programs may be relevant to clubs looking to invest in live entertainment, venue infrastructure or audience development.
For clubs looking to improve their live entertainment facilities, the Sound NSW Venue Upgrade Grants provide an opportunity for grant funding. The program is split into two streams: Advice & Planning and Infrastructure & Equipment.
Infrastructure & Equipment Grants
The Infrastructure & Equipment stream provides funding of up to $150,000 for eligible live music venues to purchase equipment or undertake infrastructure upgrades. Funding of up to $300,000 is also available for high-end audiovisual systems and advanced lighting technology.
This is a two-stage application process. Expressions of interest close at 2pm on 28 September 2026, with successful applicants invited to submit a full application. For more information on eligibility requirements and funding criteria, click here.
Advice & Planning Grants
The Advice & Planning stream provides funding of up to $20,000 for venues seeking to increase live music programming.
Funding can be used for activities such as acoustic assessments, development applications, planning advice, legal services and energy audits.
These grants may assist clubs considering changes to their venue or exploring opportunities to expand entertainment offerings.
Applications for this stream close on 17 September 2026.
