The Club has secured approval for a $40 million redevelopment that will deliver a more accessible, modern and family-friendly venue.

North Ryde RSL Community Club has secured development approval for its proposed redevelopment, marking an important milestone in the Club’s plans to create a more accessible, contemporary and welcoming venue for its members and the wider community.

The redevelopment, valued at over $40 million, will bring the Club’s main services and facilities together on one level, improving accessibility, navigation and the overall experience for members and guests.

Plans include new and upgraded restaurant and café facilities, an upgraded sports bar, refreshed lounge and social areas, improved children’s areas and family-friendly facilities, and a more intuitive layout throughout the Club.

North Ryde RSL CEO Joe Kelly said the approval provided a clear path for the Club to begin detailed preparations for construction.

“This approval is an important step in the future of North Ryde RSL Community Club. It gives us the opportunity to create a Club that is easier to access and enjoy, while retaining the history, identity and community connection that our members value,” he said.

The redevelopment takes its design cues from the natural character of the local area, drawing on the layered greens, earthy tones and textured bushland of the Field of Mars Reserve, together with the movement, openness and tranquillity of the Lane Cove River.

These influences will help create a Club environment that feels warm, grounded and distinctly connected to North Ryde.

Construction is anticipated to commence mid-2027, subject to completion of the remaining pre-construction planning.

The redevelopment will be delivered in stages so the Club can continue operating during the works. Careful staging and member communication is central to the construction program.

“We know our members will want to understand how the works may affect their visits. Our aim is to minimise disruption wherever possible and provide clear, timely updates as each stage progresses,” Mr Kelly said.

Further information about the redevelopment and construction program will be shared with members as planning progresses.
