COVID-19 Updates - 15th April, 2020

1.00pm, 15th April, 2020

The NSW Government announced a waiver of the annual liquor licence fee for 2020-2021.

The waiver applies to the licence fee payable by all clubs for the period 15 March 2020 to 14 March 2021, which would have been due on 29 May 2020. Clubs will receive a $0 invoice for this period.

Details of the waiver can be found here, and the Government’s media release can be found here.

ClubsNSW strongly advocated for a waiver of the annual liquor licence fee due to the considerable impact on clubs of the COVID-19 pandemic and Government restrictions.

ClubsNSW issued a media release which welcomes the NSW Government’s waiver, to read the full release visit circular 20-054.

ClubsNSW has also advocated for other relief measures which the NSW Government has provided, including:

  • Six-month deferral of gaming machine tax, from March to September 2020;
  • 25% reduction of payroll tax for club entities with payroll less than $10 million in the 2019-20 financial year;
  • Six-month deferral of payroll tax, from April to October 2020.
