COVID-19 Updates - 23rd February, 2021

2:00pm, 23rd February, 2021

Member clubs are advised that, today, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian foreshadowed that drinking while standing in indoor areas of clubs will be permitted from Wednesday, 17 March 2021, if the current trend of no COVID-19 community transmissions continues.

In addition to these changes, the Premier has indicated that from Friday, 26 February, up to 30 people may sing indoors, and weddings may have up to 30 people dancing at any one time.

This means that, from this Friday, clubs that host weddings may permit up to 30 people to dance on a dancefloor at any one time. The Premier has indicated that this does not need to be the same group of 30 people, and that the 30 people on the dancefloor can be rotated.

Moreover, clubs that offer live entertainment may include up to 30 singers as part of their entertainment, subject to physical distancing requirements.

The Premier has indicated that the further easing of restrictions, including an increase in the capacity of weddings, will be announced within three weeks.
